The Real on the ‘Ms. Celie’ Strand

“I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don’t notice it. People think pleasing God is all God cares about. But any fool living in the world can see it always trying to please us back.”
– Alice Walker

You are so amazingly gorgeous and don’t even realize it. Beauty is all in you…..you just have to break the hurt and generational curse to see it clearly.

It is never too late to believe in yourself and the powers that you hold as a black woman. Everyday presents itself as a struggle for us black folks but let me be the first to encourage you by reminding you that there is no better place to be. This melanated skin provides protection and nourishment, this wool like hair not only protects our spirit but it’s coarseness is the reason that our hair can be transformed into so many things. Our black experiences is what keeps us grounded and reminds us of our manners and need for respect. Our presence demands attention but has a calming way about doing so.

Connecting to who you are is important. Take the time to dig deeper into what makes you so unique and what makes your beauty shine greater with each day.
