How To Coach Your Daughters Into Their Womanhood

You wanted to raise capable & independent children, but now they are growing up too fast, ready to tackle the cruel world without you.

It’s impossible to let go, but we want to encourage you to think creatively about what message you want to send to your little girl.

Is it more important to be right or to have her trust and respect?

We’ve got you, so we’ve pulled a few tips on how you can coach your daughter on how to grow into her womanhood with grace without losing your cool.

  • Validate their experiences: Listen to them. We should feel honored that they have chosen us to unload their burdens. To truly connect with our girls, we have to create a safe space for them to feel empowered to share their innermost thoughts and feelings.
  • Be honest about your experiences: We know you’ve made some mistakes in your past, Sis, but hiding them from your daughter won’t do any of you any favors. Being transparent is the best way to earn trust. Don’t be afraid to choose age-appropriate stories based on your lived-in experiences to drive lessons home to your growing young adult.
  • Create opportunities for them to discover & work on their gifts: We could all benefit from some time away from the mundane. If your daughter is in a funk, it could be because she’s feeling under-stimulated. Find some time to do art projects together or take a fun class at YouTube University on the weekends. You’d be surprised to find how much a little love, attention, and creativity can cure.

Nobody wins when the family feuds, so it’s essential to nurture your relationships with the people who matter most.

Your kids are not your possessions; they are your responsibility. Our job is to teach them healthy ways of dealing with honest and intense emotions.

If disappointments are hard for us adults to manage, imagine the time, attention, and tender care it takes to walk a child through them successfully. Puberty, for instance, is a huge life change that everyone goes through. Though the matter is delicate, We should educate every woman about the process.

There’s no rule book, only a mother’s love, powered by God’s grace, but if you are looking for more understanding, please check out our book ‘From a Princess to a Queen: A Melanated Teens Guide to Puberty.’ to learn our tactics for walking your daughters through womanhood with tact and grace.

We’re all rooting for you.
