Happy Mother’s Day Beloved!

Mother’s Day is a small token of appreciation that we can give to you. We can never give you enough for what you do.

The days are long and the nights are longer. The tears dry up but never seem to end. The stress never seems to go away but the beauty of it all still remains. You are a mother…but a mother in a league of her own. You nurture even when you don’t have it, you smile even when you don’t feel like it. You are the first up in the morning and the last to go to sleep at night. You cook a full meal only to have enough time to take small bites. You work all day and then come home to a second position that you are more passionate about so you have to exert more time and energy.

Friends hear your struggles but may not understand them. You find that talking to yourself has become a norm but nothing worth worrying about. Your tiered sis….I can see it in the way that you walk, the way that you have to lean in order to feel comfortable. But you never seem to give up.

You never give up on you, your children and the people that look to you to nurture them as well. You never seem to complain about everything that is being asked of you even when the return is so much less, if even it is acknowledged at all. You stand in the need of strength and prayer on many days but too tired to utter a word or lift a finger. You sometimes stand alone in a crowd full of people who see you but do not acknowledge you exist. But you still seem to radiate.

We amaze ourselves at the strength, courage and wisdom that we hold. But yet we often feel as if we haven’t given enough.

Be proud of who you are beloved. You have the strength of 1000 men. You have titles of professionals and letters that only those with degrees should carry.

  • Ph. D- For all the times you have to create an answer where there is none
  • Physician- For all the boo boos and emotional conversations had in the late hours
  • Sanitation Specialist- For the times you had to clean a whole house in 15 minutes cause company was coming
  • Lawyer- For all the times that the school called about fighting but you taught your child to defend themselves
  • Mediator- For the many arguments and sibling fights you had to break up
  • Computer Engineer- For the times you had to fix the laptop or the game stations
  • Dental hygienist- For the many times you had to force them to floss and brush their teeth
  • Teacher- For the homework that you had to email the actual teacher for your and your child to both understand
  • Scientist- For the “mom what’s this” moments or the grossness of boys
  • Uber Driver- To school, from school, to practice, from practice, to Nana’s house and to the mall
  • Chef- Cause you understand that they can not live off of cereal and hot pockets
  • Hairstylist- You had to get creative with hairstyles that they seen on social media

And the list goes on and on and on.

To look into your eyes is like looking in the eyes of GOD. They not only hold love but they hold all the answers you need in life.

You are the hand we hold. The heart that we can not live without, the anchor to the family and the understanding to it all.

For that, this day is truly not enough. Mother’s Day is everyday.

But for today……Happy Mother’s Day!
